It can be fine-grained, coarse-grained, compact, sandy, contaminated with other types of rock, and so on...
Meschia sandstone – the "Italian Fontainebleau" – is quite compact and fine-grained. Proper cleaning should be done with a plastic bristle brush. For lichens, if present, a brass brush can be used, but be careful not to scratch or scratch the rock.
Usually if the boulder is very dirty you should observe it for a few days after cleaning, so that the rain, wind and sun complete the cleaning work.
